is it a stock intake? aftermarket ones will add some noise if you press the gas hard enough

What car and motor? I don't think the intake manifold has anything that can really make a noise in it. It could be the intake valves maybe. When did it start and how long has it been occuring?

I have a 1994 Honda Civic DX, stock motor...the intake I'm not sure what brand is it because my mechanic gave it to me...he said something I think that it was an Accord intake..

This is not my intake but it looks like it....

also you see where the filter is at and it has that metal thing covering the mouth of the filter....that part I don't have it on my intake...might that be the reason that it is making so much noise?? also if I leave that open can that cause a damage to my engine..??

yeah a sucking noise...but its real loud...I don't know if it is because of the intake or the filter that I have on it..or because the air duct of the filter is open..

Aftermarket intakes will make the intake louder.
Dont worry, your fine.

Most intakes will make a sucking sound. Some will make a whistling sound too.

Especially if you have a short-ram intake. My K&N CAI can only be heard after 4K.

Why do some intakes make whistling sounds? I understand the sucking in sound but not the whistling.

my friend explained that to me. its just something opening up, and when you press the gas a little the opening is only opening a little. making a high pitch whistling noise. once you press the gas more, the opening opens up more. make sense? lol

yeah, the pipe and filter are secure...I am starting to think that it is a normal thing..that it is the intake.....

I thought it was making a lot of noise mostly because the air duct is open rather than close like other intakes have it...

Thanks guys..but now I have a new problem..I finally register my car and today when I was going to start my vehicle, I think my starter went out...my car cranks but its not starting..I have already replaced my distributor so I doubt its the distributor.....I have an automatic starter,....do you guys think an automatic starter can mess up the starter...
