I think he may be talking about the steering wheel lock? For future reference, it always helps to take that picture and put it into paint and draw a circle or an arrow to whats broken. Good luck bud.
the arms that reach around the steering column on the ignition switch housing are broken off, get a new housing and put your guts into it.
check a junkyard or dismantler for the housing

Year and trim please. The parts diagrams I've referenced assume that this is a 95 GSR.
I'm guessing that since this was an attempted theft that the cylinder itself is ruined? If by chance it is not, then as Nicolai suggested, you can just get the pieces that reattach it to the steering column. In the diagram below, you need #3 (x2) for sure and maybe #4 if you don't have this or it is damaged:

If your cylinder is damaged you will need to get #2 from the above diagram. 2 things to consider: The cylinder will come with a new key. You can get it rekeyed to your original key if you want. Locksmiths charge about $40 for this. If not, you will have a 2 key car. The other is that if you have an immobilizer ('00-'01 I believe, but I did not see it in your photo), this part will cost about $100 more.
