b20vtech idle air control valve question
i have a b20vtech frankenstein engine and the guy who sold me the swap had a hose with a valve coming out of the intake manifold which he said was the idle air control valve...he said this was because the b20 does not have the lower crank case vent that the gsr has, and the swap is a b20 with a gsr head... my question is what the ramifications are for attaching the hose from the intake manifold to the gsr head and not using his ghetto rigged valve??? he said it was the only way. thanks
The IACV and PCV are two completely different systems. They should not be combined unless you want to f#@k up your IAC valve.
Do you have any Helms manuals that cover each engine? You should get manuals for both and learn how the Intake Air Control Valve (IAC) and Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) systems work on the 2 engines. This way you will have an understanding and be able to fix the issue knowing what you did. Vs having someone else telling you some BS story of how they mickey moused it.
