Default 91 CRX HF cooling system problems

Hello,

I have a 91 CRX HF 240k mileage, I had an overheating problem, and changed the thermostat, in an out twice to verify it worked. This didn't help, brand new radiator this didn't help. Keep in mind I have no heat either. I have flushed and back flushed the heater core twice, it flows clean. Upper radiator hose hot, lower radiator hose cold. Heater hose that goes into the block is cool, heater hose that goes into the thermostat housing is hot. I am lost, I either have a bad water pump, clogged heater core, or blown head gasket???? Car runs great still just over heats a little. And yes I did check the valves even cycled it several times while flushing and back flushing the heater core....

Anyone can help or have any suggestions, THANKS

Did you bleed the cooling system?

Bleeding the cooling system may take 20-30 minutes.

1) Park the car on an inclined driveway with the front end higher than the rear.

2) Push the dash heater lever/**** to MAX heat.

3) Follow the directions in the diagram below:

Ok I went and bought a funnel that attaches to the radiator, and I got the system bled!!!! Voila I've now got HEAT. BUT!! The car still gets hot, not over heating but hot, also have a slight idle surge 1,000-1,250 RPM. Also I noticed when bleeding the system that after the car warmed up, it was spitting all the air bubbles out, but after about 30-40 minutes it was also spitting hot coolant??

I am almost convince this car has a blown head gasket, it runs good though!??!? If it is a blown head gasket how long can I expect to continue driving it or does it need addressed right away??

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR GETTING ME EARLY MORNING HEAT THOUGH!!!

Fan does come on, but not as fast or as soon as I would think it should?? Can confirm that my lower radiator hose even after 1 hour drive is still almost ice cold, is this normal??

still sounds like a sticking thermostat issue, are you using oem thermostats? they are much higher quality than off the shelf. how much is it bubbling/pushing fluid out? you could be dealing with a blown head gasket...
