Default opinion on bearing clearance

I have been rebuilding motors for the pass three years now. I have built some on the loose side, but majority of the build I did have mostly used std bearing clearance. But my question is to all of the motor builders what is yourout look on the situation. Do you feel loose is better or keeping it on the std side is better. I think if you are building a daily driver the std is best, just my 2 cent. Feedback please.

So what exactly is the question? We don't need a discussion on this at all. Higher horsepower requires more clearance, lower horsepower can get by with tighter clearances. It is scary to think you have been "building" ENGINES for the PAST 3 years and you have NO clue what constitutes what bearing clearance.
