Default 1993 Civic DX How do I remove the automatic shift cable?

I am in the process of swapping out my blown D15B7 for a JDM D15B..

I currently have an auto trans and it is staying that way due to smaller than desired budget

my tranny and motor currently are both junk.

I am swapping in the new motor and trans but have ran into a problem.

I am trying to figure out how to get the shift cable free from the transmission?! I need to re use this part and I cannot for the life of me figure out to get it free, i've searched everywhere and no one seems to have any answers!

I believe you remove the small cover there (2 or 3 bolts?) and underneath there is a small bolt holding the cable end assy. to the shaft. You may have to remove the inspection plate prior to removing the cable cover.

Unless that is the JDM pictured in which case it might be different.

I'll get under there tomorrow and pull some more bolts off, i'm sure it can't hurt lol.

There are 2 bolts holding a small aluminum cover over the end of the cable. Remove them and take the cover off. You will then see where the cable attaches to the transmission with a small bolt (10mm head)

There should be another bolt about 2 or 3 inches in front of the one pictured, after that the cover should just pop off( sometimes they get alittle stuck, just give it a couple love taps and it will come off)... I just did this a couple days ago on my civic (:
