Automatic shift cable HARD TO REMOVE!!!!!
The tranny went out on my 94 del sol si, so I bought an auto tranny from a 95 civic ex to replace it. My problem is that the civic cable is shorter than the del sol cable and wont reach.
I can remove the cable from under the gear selector but not from the tranny. It is held on by a 10mm bolt with some sort of metal surrounding. I can bend one of the metal things back but not the other. What do I do?
I wish I had a picture, but I am sure that anyone that has done anything with an auto shift cable knows what I am talking about.
EDIT: I cant get 12 out because of 14!

There is a 10mm bolt that holds the cable in. There is a metal tab bent in to hold it for a safety so it dosent back out. Just get a screwdriver bend it out of the way and take out the 10mm bolt. This is after you take off the cover hiding where the cable connects to the tranny of course.

I finally did it. I just got a VERY small flat head screwdriver and a hammer and hammered away at the tabs. THey eventually bent back and I was able to switch cables, although I need an adjustment very bad on the shift cable.
