Default Which B20 makes better power non-vtec and n/a?

B20z 9.6cr
B20b 9.2cr with P8r head

I'm looking to swap into my 1997 Civic pretty soon but I haven't exactly found a convincing answer to which is better during my search. All indicators say go with the 9.2cr because the P8r head flows better but I'm not sure if the better flowing head is that great of an advantage over the higher compression ratio.

Please inform.

Thanks,
Jason

do some research. the b20z is the most powerful b20 they make. has like 145whp or somewhere around there.

Yes I've read this to some degree but I've also read more people say get the b20 with the p8r head and 9.2cr because the head has better flow. This leads me to question which is more important a better flowing head or high compression ratio (only better by .4)?

I've done quite a bit of reading only to find more questions really. Here is a couple of links that I refound from my reading last night.

Buying the 9.6cr b20 and adding the p8r head is out of the question because this is going to be a low budget swap. But buying the 9.2cr engine with the p8r head is an option if it's the better engine once I start adding the intake manifold and exhaust.
