Default shift light to open slot in cluster

i was wondering if anyone knew how to install a shift light into the open spot in the cluster by where the check engine light is. just wondering if it can be done or not. if so, is their a writeup on how to install it?

RPM activated switch hooked to a light bulb.

There's also ways to do it with certain ECU's but that's way more complicated than you're probably looking for.

Yes it can be done. I did it with my radar detector warning light. First you have to sand off the black paint on the clear plastic. Then install the light. I used an led and an old pen tube to make it a spot light. Otherwise it lit everything up. I used a blue LED and it was very noticeable.

As far as the electronics for the shift light you will have to buy something.

sorry to threadjack but its kinda on subject but what aboutr using that rpm activator for vtec?

It's been done but you won't have the computer adding fuel for the change in cam.
