I do not know what is causing the overheating problem (mechanically), but to help prevent the issue all together, I recommend investing in a oil cooler....

I would have a mechanic perform a cylinder leakage test to confirm the new headgasket isn't leaking. From there it could be a partially clogged radiator, a thermostat that is fully opening or a water pump with a damaged impeller.

I have black civic honda, its color is fadding off from the hood and roof. local dealership Honda Craft services center, says it will cover only hood not roof, is not rediculous? the same paint is painted on car. why they want to split the cost of roof.

AdeuIsaac, The reason your car overheats on hills and running for extended periods at high RPMs might not be mechanical. What part of the country do you live in? If you are anywhere that doesn't see snow in teh winter, then you are subject to higher temperatures during the day and that prevents the engine from running cooler. If you live in mountains then you are running in higher altitudes where the air is thinner and water boils faster, again, engine runs hotter.

You say you run her all out for 10-20 minutes, not grreta for the engine either. The car is designed to take short high RPM stints and then cool off, not run ***** out for a long time. Take it easy on the car. When you tow your trailer, do you make sure the cars towing capacity ( the maximum amount of weight the car can safely pull) is not exceeded? The owners manual says how much your car can safely pull, any more than that, you will cook your engine and tranny.

Think about this and then see if you need a mechanic to take a look.

Have you checked the level of coolant in the overflow tank?

you cannot prevent overheating thru the use of an oil cooler. that is ridiculousness. otherwise all engines without one would overheat and that just doesnt happen. the coolant system is responsible for cooling the engine.

Honda has a TSB on some civic engine blocks from that year. They are prone to leaking due to a porus casting. If you fall under the warranty extension you may qualifly for a free engine block replacement.
