Default what did i do?? kenwood kdc-x693

a tad off topic but... i installed this deck (kenwood kdc-x693) into my 97 passat glx recently, when i first installed it the deck would power on, work, change color, etc. i tried to pull it out of the cage a little bit while the power was off (battery was hooked up still though) so i could attach the trim ring and ended up popping off the front of the deck, not the face plate but the part that the face plate attaches to.

i thought it was still working, but today i finished wiring up my amps and go to test it out and nothing. no flashing eject button no power on with the face plate. i don't know if i fried a chip or what, fuses are all still good, the radio gets constant power, a ground, and the ignition power, tested with a test light. these are the only three that are attached to the chasis harness (used scotch locks because i couldn't find a plug and play harness locally) the speakers are all re wired to a couple amps.

not sure where to go from here, i know it's an older deck but it still worked fine when i pulled it out of my buddies teg, and when i first installed it in my passat.

cliffs: did i fry a chip in side of the deck even though it was turned off but plugged in when i accidently pulled the front of it off?

thanks in advance guru's!
