I have a hatch 97 Honda Civic Cx. The motor is bad and the transmission slips. Right now it is a stock 1.6L non-vtec with automatic transmission. I'd like to do a vtec swap in it and put a manuel transmission in it. What I'd like to know what motors will work in this model car? What's all needed to do a vtec swap. Should I just try to find another stock motor to put in it? What's the price range of doing this swap (just parts). Then switching the car over to a 5 speed is something I deffinatly want to do. What types of 5 speed transmissions will work? Is it possible to even put a 5 speed in it? What's all needed to make this change over?
