06 Civic EX 4Dr Shaking up and down Front Right Suspension Strut! New Strut No Change
Hello guys! I am having a little problem with my 2006 Civic EX 4 door automatic. I installed a HFP suspension. The suspension was too stiff for me. Plus, when I used the HFP suspension for a while and used to hit a bump, the suspension used to hit very hard to the point that I felt like if the engine jumped up from its bay and fell down on its place again. I decided to go back to the original suspension but it seems like I am feeling the same thing now, especially in the right front side. This car drives fine in low speed bumps. But when I hit a bump at a normal or at a high speed, the front right suspension shakes up and down to the point that it feels like if the engine along with the whole front frame shakes up and down. I already checked the whole front strut. I dissembled it and changed the right front strut mounting rubber which was broken. That eliminated some of the popping noise. However, the shaking up and down is still there. I even went the over mile and replaced the whole front right strut assembly and nothing has changed. I searched online but I got nothing. Please help me out guys! Thanks!
Solution: The passenger side motor mount was broken and leaking some kind of oil. It could not tell by just looking at it. I had to jack the engine up from the bottom in other to see it. That engine mount is fully destroyed. Members "Luciphear" and "Onski" from 8thCivic.com helped me solving this problem. Thank you very much for the wonderful help!

This engine mount gave me so much trouble... It was all broken...

I bought the engine mount brand new from Honda. It was driving me crazy the fact that they gave me part number 50820-SNA-P01 instead of 50820-SNA-033. They said that the 50820-SNA-P01 is the most recent part number for it.

The problem is solved and the crazy feeling is all gone now!!

I would go over every nut and bolt and make sure they are tight. After that, check anything suspension and steering related that are near the suspension that could have gotten loose during the process. You say it almost feels like the motor is moving around, have you checked the motor mounts? If all is well after you check, and no one else can contribute to this thread, I would just go to a mechanic and see if they know what would cause that. Get them to tell you what is wrong and either have them fix it, or fix it yourself.

The problem is that you really can not feel anything on the car unless you hit a bump with both front wheels at a certain speed.

Could it be the alignment being off after taking off the HFP suspension? If so, why only in the right front side?
