Icon6 Misfire after weapon R intake instal 08 si

So heres the just of it i have just installed my weapon R intake (witch makes your **** sound beefy), but after the install Im getting a misfire. Im not sure why its misfiring i changed the plugs, cleaned injectors, and checked the wires. I have tried everything that i could think of to fix the issue, but never the less it has failed. So, if u have any idea of what i could be i would appreciate the feed back.

Would the MAF sensor cause it to throw a misfire code?

Check for proper installation...usually a P0171 is caused by vacuum leak. Make sure the intake gasket is installed properly and there are no leaks in the manifold or throttle body anywhere after the MAF sensor. If there are no leaks and you are certain all is well, reset the ECM with a scanner...clear codes, it will reset the self learn for fuel trim (a/f modification). If it comes back you may need to reflash to broaden the window for setting the code, usually done with tuners.

Honda people chime in, I am just stating broad circumstances as an auto technician.

I work at a dealer, aftermarket intakes on the newer cars just throw codes from incorrect MAF readings, the higher flow screws with the sensor. Either reinstall the stock intake or have the ECU reflashed.

Did you disconnect the battery during your install?

I will agree Weapon R isn't the best choice... still doesn't explain it...

Can you answer K5^ question?

To accurately test this issue you should monitor fuel trim readings on a scan tool. If the system is running to lean you will see it. Since you installed a new intake try spraying throttle bottle cleaner around intake ports while monitoring fuel trim. If Short term fuel trim begins to drop and even out to normal then that is a good indication that you have a bad seal between the head and gasket surface. If the problem was not evident before intake install i would suspect that first
