D16Z6 problem with cold start
I have a 1995 honda civic ex with a D16Z6. I had problems in the past of the engine not wanting to start due to now fuel. At first I thought the fuel pump was bad so I replaced it.Then there after I replaced the main relay and it started fine.I have also noticed that my vehicle has a very rich fuel smell coming from the exhaust. But every once in a while in the morning, more so when it rains and its cold, the vehicle will not start and there will be no fuel.Could the coolant sensor be influencing the no-start and rich fuel problems?
I have a 93 del sol si D16Z6 automatic that had the same problem of hard or no start on rainy mornings and it was fuel related. I checked and replaced a lot of things including: grounds, main relay, fuel filter, fuel pump, ignition switch, etc. Turned out to be a worn out ECU (moisture/ condensation/ time ?). Replaced the ECU (P28 for auto). Borrow a known working ECU see if it makes a difference.
