Faulty Igniter Symptoms?
1998 Civic EX coupe (D16Y8) with MT, 124K miles. No problems starting. No issues shutting off after car warms up. No CEL codes.
Engine runs well with the exception of what feels like an electrical related. minor misfire.Idles well and rpm's are not fluctuating. Wires/plugs/cap/rotor/ all in good shape and less than a year old. Spark test is blue but not bright white on all cylinders. Good fuel pressure too.
I've read a lot of post here and elsewhere about faulty and completely broken
igniters, and it seems there's quite a range of symptoms before they finally stop working and a car will not start. the slight misfire feeling becomes more noticeable at higher speeds. Also, car should be getting better MPG's
Best ways to test? Am I on the right tracking pin-pointing the igniter? Anyone with similar experience.
