Default 99 accord tries to stumble when coming to a stop

99 accord ex, 2.2 engine... a little background: bought the car skipping with 10 codes set off for all four cylinders misfire, bank 1 lean, random misfire, egr flow insufficient, some other efi code, and variable valve timing solenoid aka vtec solenoid... so anyway, after pulling the spark plugs out they were shot, new set up plugs and she runs amazing! I also took the vtec solenoid off and cleaned it. i cleared the codes... then swapped battery in the car for a new one (just becuase) so i figured that would really clear the data trouble codes.. my "maint req" light is still on, but not showing any codes when hooked to a scanner? anyway, what the car is doing now is right after coming to a complete stop the car acts like it wants to stumble or die down some then catch itself and run fine. I need to figure this out because the car will not sell as it is. its not bad, but definately noticeable. any help appreciated! thanks

Take the iacv off and see if the filter is partially blocked off.

will try that now... so theres a filter in the iacv? ill go pull it off and see what i can find out and maybe post up some pictures of it...

also, any idea why the "maint req" light would be on, but no codes present?? is there still a CEL light or is the maint req the CEL on this car?? just wondering if it could possibly be set off as like an oil change indicator or something and how to clear it?

i didn't see a filter on my IACV. Just cleaned it until all the black crud was off using carb cleaner.

They are different. The Maint Req is one, the MIL/CEL is another light. Sorry too lazy to look up the reset for the Maint Light.....something with pressing/holding the trip and turning the car on....check the owners manual, if you don't have it - download it from Honda America.

to reset your maint. light... press and hold the trip button with key off, turn key to on position while still pressing the trip button after a few seconds the maint. lite should blink then go off, and i think thats it.

thanks i got the trip reset... i took the IACV off and sprayed it out with carb cleaner... i did not see a filter in there... after putting it back on and topping off the coolant i took it out for a drive and the first few stops i came too it seemed ALOT better. then i took the car out later and its back to doing the same thing.
