1994 LX Head gasket issue
Alright guys I'm new to the Honda scene and have gotten myself a problem. I picked up a 1994 Accord LX for my wife and it turned out to need a head gasket, well after I buy the car and get to looking over it real good, I notice it has an F22A1 in it, but the guys who done the swap were running the F22B2 intake which is probably why it needed a head gasket and ran hot because as I found out, the coolant ports don't line up. Well I go and pick up a junk yard B2 head and clean it up and have it machined and install it, car runs good but i notice water leaking from the bottom of the head behind the exhaust manifold, so I tear the valve cover off and torque the bolts once more, put it back together and its fine, leave the house make it 15 minutes down the road and the car breaks down, turns out the oil passage in the head gummed up and burnt the cam up, so I got buy a BRAND NEW head today reinstall EVERYTHING and it leaking water from the bottom of the head in the same place again!!! So my question to you guys is: Is a B2 head compatible with an A1 block? I've seen swaps the other way around but I want to be sure it works before I drop anymore money in it. Also, could it be the gasket itself not causing a good seal? Any help would be appreciated guys!!
It's best to just get another engine. Head jobs are hard to get right. If you do pull the head again, get a precision straight edge and measure the block. It could be the block that's warped. It happens.
