I am doing my swap And was wondering which oil mix to use and where to get it from? T2w4 tranny going in my prelude ?

this. honda man's trans = use honda MTF only unless your trans has very worn syncros.

in one of my cars someone used conventional motor oil previously and shifted terribly, swapped it for honda MTF and it shifts like knife through butter now. other car which was poorly maintained and when draining trans fluid it had the consistency of dirty water. put honda MTF in and same great results.

What they said^ stick with stock fluid if the trans. is stock. If you go to aftermarket gears, syncros, LSD, or final drive, then look at different fluids.

 

How much does the trans hold ?

 

Iirc it is right at 2 quarts for what you can get out of it for a drain and fill with the trans in the car, empty (as in new install) is like 3.5 i think

 

I use Honda, but I've also added some Lucas tranny fluid as well, and so far it seems to be holding up just fine
