Fuel Pressure Gauge Questions???
Hi everyone,
I've had a autometer electrical fuel pressure gauge wired to the interior of my car for a while now. Everything worked fine for about 6 months. The past weekend I went to the track. I noticed the gauge "read" about 5psi lower afterwards. I wasn't too worried about. Then yesterday, it dropped down to about 30 psi.
Got home examined everything, checked for leaks, etc. Couldn't find anything. Tried to increase the pressure. I turned it to the max setting and the gauge finally read 50 psi. Last night I purchased and installed a mechanical b&m gauge on the fuel filter. It was reading 80 psi!!!
I drop it back down to 50 psi according to the b&m unit, and the autometer unit reads 30 psi. Any ideas what's wrong. Can the sender unit go bad?
Thanks everyone. Sorry for the long story.

Autometer Sucks!! I don't know what could be causing the problem. Maybe the connector that converts from manual to electrical has gone bad. Call Autometer and tell them whats goin on. I bought the same unit and never installed it. Had a feeling something would probably go wrong with it, I'm glad I never put it in.

There was a recall on the autometer electrical fuel pressure gauge though.
Autometer uses the same sender as most japanese brands.
