H22a1 what cranks can i use?
I've searched all over and got a lot of mixed answers. I have a h22a1 with rods and pistons and crank girdle. I don't have the crankshaft for the motor. I was wondering what crankshafts from others motors that I can use and what the compression change will be and what/if any modifications would be required. Thanks.

h23 or f22 crank is 95mm stroke and you either have to use h23 rods or the best setup is h23 crank, h22 rod, and custom piston.
but for stock rebuild only crank you can use with those pistons and rods is h22A1 crank.
Thanks yeah I know for stock that's all I can use. I was mainly wondering are there any F series that I could yank the crank and rods and pistons out of or just the crank and use with what I have. I can find Fs all day at the junkyard. That's y I'm asking. I also don't have a cylinder head for this block either.
This is most likely going to be a build for my 91 hatch with and H2D set up I had a h22a4 in a crx but didn't care much for the added weight so I'm looking to lighten the swap as much as I can.
^ What he said.
But if you need a crank plus a complete head, and probably all of the water pipe and timing gear bits, you would probably be better finding a complete H22 of any vintage.

Why not go H2B? much better gearing to choose from and just an overall better trans..
H2D in my opinion is a waste of time.. last swap i saw on here the guy cut his shock tower to get the motor to fit with a D trans..

The guy must have been an idiot that did the h2d swap. You don't have all the hood issues with the h2d that u do with the h2b. It's cheaper and I'm just trying to work with what I have. But then again I could just scrap it and boost the d have more reliable power and a lighter set up which I have done before. I just get bored easily and go through cars. It's something different and people have gone faster in some situations. But I understand aot of people don't like that idea. I was simply asking a question that needed an answer nothing else, nothing more.
