Default OBD2 B18B1 EF Sedan?

Right now I have a 96 Integra RS that I've been wrenching on. Lately its becoming quite clear that when I am done with it I will be constantly looking over my shoulders trying to keep it. These things are extremely easy to steal; not to mention having an absurd insurance premium for that reason.

With that said, I am thinking of pulling the motor and selling the shell. My question is; is it feasible to swap a OBD2 B18B1 into a 89-91 civic sedan? Also are there any wiring harness conversions available that would make it easier? I've searched the threads and it seems most folks with the EF sedan that have B18B1's are OBD1 only.

Don't convert to OBD2 it'll never stop having a check engine light. Either keep it OBD0 by using 90-91 Integra parts or convert to OBD1.

Thanks y'all. Ok. So when you say keep it OBD0 does that mean simply keeping the car's original harness and backdating the engine parts or would I need a whole new motor? Thanks again. This really puts things in perspective as far as finding something suitable.

It sounds like it would make more sense if I just started shopping for a 96-98 OBD2 Civic instead if i want to keep my motor...

im pretty sure that 98+ integras were OBD2, and 94-97 were OBD1 so that should make your car OBD1.

if im incorrect can someone correct me, im pretty sure im not tho

So then it follows that the easiest swap for the motor that I have would be a 96-98 EK; right? If so, I may just sell the whole car and get an OBD1 B18B1-A1 motor if I want an older Civic. That sucks because I've got alot in my motor already...

Don't be discouraged by the conversion.save your motor. Check out rywire's inventory and invest in a tuck harness. They also offer alternator, dizzy and injector adapters so you don't have to change the engine components- I believe I've got that right. Are there any other components he would have to change over that rywire doesn't offer adapters for?

Converting to OBD0 or OBD1 like has already been mentioned is your best bet. It's not hard to do. Ask any questions you in this thread. It has been done so many times that there is no question that hasn't been answered.

Thanks again guys, I'll try rywire and if all else fails I'll go with the OBD0-1 option...

My crx has a nasty rewired conversion and a motor that leaks and smokes. I'm dropping a b18c 96 spec in it within the next couple weeks and will be using a rywire obd1 tuck harness with adapters. What is the dizzy pin count on the b18c? And what additional wiring will i need to do? Thanks ahead guys
