Default 94 civic dies while driving??

So i have had the problem of loosing power in my car while driving. The engine would stay on but i could press the gas pedal down as much as i wanted the rpms would raise a tad bit then fall back down under 1000. I would have to pull off to the side put the car in park. wait a bit then it would drive away fine. I haven't drove my car in about 3 days so i went out today and drove it around a couple blocks to see if it was doing the same thing. Well everything was fine for awhile. Then again it started dropping the rpms and speed. This time I tried putting it in neutral then back in drive. The car died. Then i could'nt press down on the gas pedal or the brake they where both locked. Also the steering wheel hardly turned at all. but i got the car to a safe stop. Went to try and start it. the started turned over and it sounded like it would start then it just died down. That happened a couple times. Then it finally started and i got it home. So i was told Ignition coil was most likely the problem. With this information, Can you tell me for sure that its the coil?
