95 accord front wheeel studs
I have broken off two whel studs on both of my two front wheels on my 5th gen accord. I have already replaced the rear wheel studs which was very easy. I have heard the front studs need to be pressed out in order to replace the studs. does anyone know if this is true? Thank you.
No they do not have to be pressed in. If you have done the back you will have no problems doing the front. Here is what I did. Remove the calipar and then the mounting bracket that secures the calipar to the steering knuckle. This will give you access to the back side of the hub. Tap the broken studs out from the front with a screw driver or punch and a hammer. Insert the the new studs from the back side of the hub. Put about four or five washers on the stud and then thread a lug nut on. Use a ratchet or impact wrench to tighten the the lug nut and suck the stud through the hub. There is enough room to see the back of the stud in the hub and know when it has been seated far enough in the hub. The whole process from start to finish takes about five minutes if you have an impact gun (cheap electric one is sufficient). Good luck.
