Default 5th Gen Prelude Exhaust help

I'm looking for a 2.5 ID stainless exhaust that is totally free flowing. Don't want the typical "fart can" sound. I don't want an attention getter. Can someone suggest a resonator / muffler combination that won't buzz, sounds respectable but doesn't sound like the factory OEM exhaust either. Someone else suggested a 4" diamater resonator and an "off-set" Magnaflow muffler, single outlet. I'm a 53 year old gearhead.

Prior to this exhaust install, I'm hanging a Megan SS header and Megan low restriction cat. Once this is done it's off to the dyno to be Hondata tuned using a chipped P28 with USB interface.

Any leads, recommendations and/or feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks, V1

Magnaflow and Borla both make good mufflers for what you want, and any 2.5" mandrel bent piping should be fine. Using a 16" to 18" long resonator should help to keep "raspiness" down as well.

For the cat, I don't know how well the Megan will work out, as it won't have the same quality of components inside compared to an oem style, but it will be quieter than a test pipe setup.

That is the best I can offer for help, as my exhaust is loud and droning, even though it is a "stealth" exhaust haha.

I've heard the Megan cats burn up pretty quickly, but if you have it already I guess you can gamble it, otherwise I'd recommend the Carsound cats (owned by Magnaflow). Check out k-teller for the exhaust piping. Vibrant and Thermal R&D would be two brands I would recommend for a somewhat quieter exhaust. The Magnaflow will also sound nice but probably a little louder. I can tell you first hand that Borla's are fairly loud - sound good (aggressive), but loud.

I have thermal r&d on my car I love it. It has an oem look coming out of the back and is reasonably quiet until you get on it.

I just have an axleback thermal r&d with the muffler that has two tips that are a little bit larger than the stock muffler and obviously it's not really high flow but I love the way it sounds. It is quiet at partial throttle but when you get on it, it just screams. Especially in vtec.
