LS swap in HX - when I snap the throttle the engine boggs out and shuts off
Ok. Ive been searching and searching everywhere about this issue. Ive found many post from people having the same issue, but no solution is ever given. All EDUCATED input is welcome.
I put a b18b in my 96 Hx 5 speed. starts and idles fine. when I snap the throttle the engine boggs out and shuts off. If I step on it slow it will hit the rev limit at its normal point. So needless to say its not being driven. Im using a 96 ls ecu. I put the hx ecu in does the same and I used a friends ecu same issue.
I checked to see if the map and tps were switched. They were in the right place according to wire diagram. I even swapped them for s**ts and giggles. no change. checked cam and ignition timing.
known issues...
primary o2 sensor not plugged in. Just figured out how to do that. but in my 9 years in the automotive field ever had car bogg out because of that.
pulled codes and of course found for both o2 sensors and iat sensors. And as I write this maybe thats the issue. With both of them sensors not working theres no way to know how much o2 is in the system.
next issue. So I pulled the wire harness apart and found broken wires and a bunch ready to break. So I want to just replace the whole harness. But All I hear is the hx is diffrent. But how is it diffrent. if I use a 96 crv harness with the ls ecu what would be the problem? Because Im not running vtec or the egr or a 5 wire o2 sensor.
My main purpose for this is for help but I would like it to become a sticky for future. So much info on the hx and so little at the same time.
