Default polishing h22a stock jdm valves (intake/exaust) hp improvements....

one question.. are factory jdm h22a valves nitride coated (or whwat ever they call that )

and two wouldn't it resist better to head if you polished them "the chamber surface" to a perfect mirror shine... because it would prevent hot spots ??

or that is bad ?

could this improve hp results.. if not in hp results would it better for realibility ?

They aren't coated with anything. There are different things you can do to valves to increase flow characteristics. It's better to ask your head tuner about what he provides and recommends. Intake and exhaust valves are treated differently. Polishing intake valves is not something that's usually done because you actually want to increase turbulence as the air enters the chamber. The intake valves can have swirls ground it to them or get back cut.

I just reread your post and you're talking about the bottoms of the valves. Yes, people sometimes polish them. Depending on the person you talk to, you generally want a slightly rough texture on the combustion chamber, not a mirror shine. Just make sure there's no really sharp edges.
