Hi! I have a 90 EF sedan w/ a B18a1 (LS) swap from a 91 DA. I recently very carefully wire tucked it for Wekfest on the 30th of this month, I have 1 week to go and goin to start it I have nothing..Door and brake indicator on along w/ clock and radio acc. so it has power and I can hear the fuel pump but no crank. I dnt see the ECU light blinking either.... any common rookie mistakes u may know of or a standard check you may know of that I could walk thru would would b greatly appreciated... I took my time on the tuck and did everything 1 by 1 so i feel confident w/ my wiring...

 

how did you connect them together? butts connector? twist and tape? solder?

 

How did you tuck the harness? Cut n extend? Did you convert to obd1? Did you remember to give power to the ecu?

 

I carefully cut 1 by 1 on each harness that I labeled and extended via cut twist tight, solder and heat shrink...so i do feel confident w/ the wirng. wat do u mean give power to the ecu? i never disconnected the ecu tho... and the battery was out the whole time...after i finished the driver side i started it and everything worked, car cranked, all good....

 

car and engine are both obd0

 

Have you checked the main fuses? And is your batt. Grounded correctly?

 

I checked all the fuses and their all good....i made a very nice ground out of 4 gauge wire and have it bolted to strut bolt in which i sanded with 80 grit first... I ask about the ECU because I dnt see the little light coming on at all but then again like i said, i never even took out the ecu plugs :-/

 

Is the thermostat ground on nice n tight

 

yea, i had extended them and put em back on there nice n tight....it was 2 sets of double wire connectors correct? so four wires, 2 seemed to be grounds...i extended em all and put em back..

 

wat exactly are those wires for? should the light on the ECU be coming on??

 

Light should come one briefly. Then turn off. 2 are power grounds and the other 2 are logic grounds.

I did my tuck and it started right up, but then again I used one of my plug n play tuck harnesses that I made.

 

i thought so...yea, i see no light flash at all which worries me. ok, but they do go together on the same bolt correct? cuz i unwraped the loomin and discovered it to be 2 seperate connectors, but i put em back w/ eachother on the same bolt.....yea, i wanted to buy a harness but i ve put all my money into getting ready for this show

 

Looking for FEI contol module for a 91 civic hatchback. Car is not getting any spark.

 

how would I know if its getting spark or not if it doesnt even crank....

ok then that is a check! how about the ground from the tranny/ clutch cable bracket to the frame rail?? i didnt put one back :-/

 

Fix it. That is what also grounds the battery to the motor/frame.

ok for sure that helped! lights are brighter, ck engine flashes on now...but still no crank ....

 

Did the car start up fine before the tuck?

 

hell yea, it was my daily...and after i did the driver side harness it started fine and everything worked

nope, evry once in a while wen i nail it or ride it hard it would come on but go off later or after turn off
