Dont get too caught in in megapixels...the optics are the most important part in picture quality.

No, it's not bad at all. I have a 3.x, but you better have a ton of memory if you plan to take them at the highest resolutions. I end up using a resolution that is equivelent to about 1.3 most of the time to keep the file sizes down. It matters even less if you just want pictures for the web.
A 1.3 or 2 megapixel camera is all you need. If you plan on printing your pics a higher resolution would be better.
I have a 3 megapixel toshiba M71 and I like it alot. But if I had to buy again, I would look into getting something with a stronger flash (or option to mount a external flash) and better macro mode.

pictures that come out blury are most often due to hand movement while pressing the button on the camera.
a steady hand, or a tripod can take a crisp picture.
but like said above, the megapixel thing only comes into play when blowing it up to print and what not.

i can't wait to run different lenses.
i have 2 settings on my Sony HandyCam(corder). It's a MiniDV, and i guess it is 1.3 mp's. I looked through the menus, and it gives me two options for resolution it seems. One is 6 hundred something, and the other is 1152 mp's. I am able to take less pics with 1152 it looks like. I guess the pictures are larger, but is the quality better in that mode?
