Icon6 B18b1 swap, VERY laggy, might be misfiring

I recently had an issue with my cooling system, but that's been resolved. My car ran fine, but when I took out my thermostat to test it, it didn't. It hardly starts and idles reakky rough, alot of the time it stalls. What is strange is that this happened right after putting the thermostat back in. When I oush the gas, nothing happens, but after some hesitation, revs up. The exhaust smells like unburned gas. My spark plugs are new NGK Iridiums, and my wires are also new and made by NGK. Wtf is this???

You must mention ALL relevant car information in tech threads. Otherwise, this thread will be closed.

Any CEL codes?

I'm getting a code 6 for ect sensor, and the ground on the thermostat is firmly attached.

Fix code 6. Is the sensor connected?

The connector appeared to be ripped, so i fixed it, reset the ECU, and now there are no codes. It still won't start up though.

Look at your thread title and first post. This was not a no-start problem. Is this a new problem?

Well it did run, but got progressively worst until it just recently didn't. However, I did get it started. The ground nut on my alternator was somehow missing. Don't know how it fell off.. But i tried putting a new nut on and I sheared the whole thing off! Luckily, I had another alternator to replace it with. I put the new one in, and still nothing. I came back 20 minutes later and it started without a problem. So it's good now, but I'm confused as to why I had to wait in order for it to start.
