Default Used Honda Accord, or Honda Civic?

Hey everyone, brand new here. Lately ive been looking at used cars, and these 2 cars are the ones I like the most. I know this is a Civic forum but I couldnt post in "General", so Im asking here.

I dont really like the coupe Civic much, I test drove it and wasnt too impressed. So im looking at Civic Sedans, and Accords (2.4L).

Based on reliability, looks, gas mileage, room and comfort...which car would you rather? Im looking specifically at the 2003-2004 Accords, and the 2006-2007 Civics.

I know Civics get better gas mileage, but on the fueleconomy website it says Accords get 21 city and 31 highway, though msn and cars dot com say 24 city and 34 highway. Which is right?

It sounds like fuel economy is a large concern for you. Why don't you stick with the 4-door civic. It has great mileage, still has the ACE body structure, which allows it to compete with larger vehicles during collisions, and they look great.

The Accord with that engine is just a larger Civic. Save the bucks and get the Civic.

An Accords 2.4L is the same as the Civic's 1.8L? Not quite.

OP, you should drive both and see which you prefer. Your questions are completely subjective instead of objective so unless you want me picking out what clothes you should wear every day YOU need to make the decision.

Personally I'd opt for a 06/07 Accord for the updated look over the 03/04. Any while I'm not sure on the Civic (R18), the 4cyl Accord is a timing chain and is a K series motor which has proved to be pretty decent.

What I meant was that the Accord with the 2.4 is the economy level car. The Civic with the 1.8 is the economy level car, performance is not the point. Given the specs of the cars, I still say to go with the Civic.
