You heard incorrectly.

Only advantage the H has is a better clutch housing.

My buddy has a H series trans on his b16. The thing moves out like crazy! Do it man!

H>B transmission wise

There's a reason they make H2B adapter plates and not B2H adapter plates.

H-series trans suck in a civic, poor axle angle, you need custom mounts, have to hack the car up for shifter cables and they really weren't all that much of a transmission to start with.

This. And being a cable tranny for shifter, it blows. I do love my H... but I hate the axles issues and not being able to slam gears as fast. Gotta baby it.

You're sooooo wrong. I'm gonna do it just to prove everybody on here that it can be done!!

How could you possibly say I was wrong? I just stated a bunch of facts for you. Sure you can make it happen, but it still doesn't change the fact that it's an inferior transmission in a civic/integra chassis. Even in a prelude/accord/odyssey chassis they really weren't so hot.

Also, if you're so hell bent on doing this you might want to just use a '98 - '01 4wd CR-V trans since it's an H-series trans with a B-series bell housing.

If you a so sure about this why did you bother asking? Also why do the H guys use b tranny's???

You can go ahead and do it but you will only prove to yourself that we were right!!!!

B tranny all day everyday in comparison to a H!!!!

My friend did the same thing! B16 hatch went from doing 15.2s to, oh... NOT ANY FASTER if you put that heavy ***, "GSR-like or worse" geared trans on a 1.6L. LOL

If you want an H-series trans on a B-series, get a GSR trans. It's lighter and has a bar shift linkage. Oh, the parts are easier to get and there are more of them. Done.

It is fun to hear these ridiculous things that start to pop up from various pockets of the country though. Always good for a laugh.

My H tranny shifts FLAWLESS, cable shifted trannys FEEL different, but a properly setup one shifts EVERY bit as good as a B. Fact.

There are a few tricks. Cheap ones.

Never heard of s H trans on a B, I wouldnt bother. As mentioned the whole reason that people SHOULD be doing H2B is for the axle alignment, and possibly internal gearset options available (Depending on what youre after).

To speedjunkie: Youre wrong. The H tranny is stronger as far as internally. PERIOD. H2B is being done in Lude now as well, but its weaker, the caveat (thye ONLY one) is the availability of aftermarket ****. If I thought it was a solution, Id have one in my car. I dont. Because its not

You know the 1 reason the B tranny is better on the H for a DC EG EK? (Axle alignment)... Well, think, and figure out why a B tranny on a LUde or accord is gay as ****.
