Default Anyone add a remote starter

I was online looking at remote starters for my 2005 CR-V and I saw a couple that added to the factory system so the OEM key can also function to remote start the vehicle. This way I don't need to have a cheap second key fob on my key chain. Has anyone added an remote start to their vehicle and what system did they use?

Here is what I found. An add on kit basically

i read through the whole page... it says underneath that you have to use your key to enter when its engage??

"Important Note: While your Honda/Acura is running, the remote entry system is disabled. This is normal and part of the design of the car. It does mean that when you go to enter the car after remote starting, you will need to use your key to unlock the door. If you want to be able to unlock your doors by remote control, we offer two similar systems that include long-range aftermarket remote controls. Because these aftermarket remotes do not rely on the factory remote entry, they will work when the car is running."

i used avital on my other crvs, just remote start w/ a small remote fob.. while my white one, i used
the viper alarm/remote start system... both were made by the same company, i love the viper systems,
i had it hooked up w/ gps and i could technically use my smart fone to access my car and it has
real time update setting about the whereabouts of your car....

I love viper...but the factory r/s are limited to the range of your remote so it u get only 20 ft to unlock your car the remote start will only work with in 20 ft of your car... AFTERMARKET FTW!! VIPER is the best on the market its all i use..

Good call about the range. Mostly from my work I can unlock/lock my car from inside and at my house it sits in the driveway. Strange you can't unlock the car with the fob once it's running. I just don't want to spend a lot of money on an alarm/starter set because it's just my daily/winter ride.

U dont necessarily have to get a remote start alarm...sonicelectronix.com have, alot of gud sales but u need a bypass for ur immobilizer or a dei556u for ur key. I do 12volt fo a living

I have a cheap CarVox alarm system with autostart for my manual V, which I bought off ebay for $40. I choose this cheap alarm because you don't have to worry about all that setting up b.s. before you turn your engine off in order to autostart your car. I know it's a safety feature but no one ever drives my car and it's always in neutral...so having to set it for autostart everytime IMO is a pain.
