90-91 Cluster Cover on 89 dash and cluster?
I really like the look and shape of the 90-91 style cluster cover. My car is an 89 crx but I have a jdm 89 crx cluster from the zc. Is the hood a direct perfect fit with the dash and mounting points? Does any wiring need to be changed?

Thanks, hoping someone has tried this before, nothing came up in search about using an 89 cluster with a 90-91 cover on an 89 dash

I am using a 91 cover on my 89 dash. It lines up and bolts up no problem. But why would you use the 91 cover on an 89 cluster? Going to be big gaps all over the place.
i swapped a 90-91 cluster cover on my dash, i like the buttons better, but i re wired up everything correctly so there isn't any extra buttons and i also swapped in a gsr cluster.
Like they said you need to keep 88-89 and 90-91 clusters and covers together to fit properly. I think that in 90-91 the hatch and crx's clusters and covers were different. They all will mount up to any year. I'm fairly sure that all usdm models are plug and play, but the jdm's are not. Couldn't tell you about the edm models.
There is a write up in the faq. If you search for cluster pinouts for a crx of those years, you will find useful links via google. You will also need the 90-91 dimmer switch with external relay as well as the defog and hazard switches. Hazard is optional, as you have a switch on your column already.
I've gone from 88-89 style to 90-91, and back. Lol.
