long story short the gsr with 19-22 psi made only 447whp
the b16 makes 543!!! at same boost wtf.....
the smaller motor with higher rev better?

gsr was taken to 9k rpm to make 447whp
b16 was taken to 10k and makes 543whp

RPM is factored into HP so reving higher will help. Lets see the dynos.

Yeah post up the TQ and boost curve. What cams are being used will make a big difference. Air temps and IAT and humidity will make a big difference as well. The B16 was built, what compression did it end up being? I be the B18 made power sooner and made lots more TQ across the whole RPM band.

 

Without a lot more data (dyno graph, complete parts list, data log), I have my doubts. Something other than GSR vs B16 is causing the difference. The flow rates of the two engines are marginally different and wouldnt cause that big of a variation with all other factors being equal

This is THE most pointless comparison I have ever seen on here. That engine made more than power this one, WOW, that is AMAZING. No specifications were given for either engine, temperature difference, if they were in fact the same dyno, ect, ect... So "D-Dawg" is just a speculator at best. Pathetic.

This coupled with the fact that you clearly lack knowledge between B-series platforms. Stay in school kid.

 

^This. The mere fact that the B16 had pistons & rods & your "Surprised" it made more HP than the "stock" Gsr is reason enough to close this thread. The B16 could have easily had higher compression aftermarket pistons which would easily, if for no other reason, explain why the same psi would produce more than a gsr with no upgrded internals. The b16 revving to 10K, on E85, with aftermarket internals should have de-mystified this before you even clicked the "Post New Topic" button.

Regardless, as stated before, when no specifications are given, how in the world can you compare something modified to stock? The worst part is nothing was even listed as to what the mods are exactly. Anyone who knows a single thing about turbo B-series engines would be able to comprehend how the "smaller" engine can be on par with the "larger" one when it comes to horsepower. Given, it may be at different RPMs, but it all depends on the ENTIRE setup... which again, wasn't provided.

This is all just like saying "my car is faster because my engine is bigger and has more power"... Absolutely ridiculous.

 

You obviously misread, he said higher compression not lower. The b16 probably has a higher compression and that along with the higher revs an obviously different tune could account for the difference. Tuner could have been having a bad day when he tuned the gsr and not pulled everything he could out of it. This isnt that surprising.
