radio gets very hot, no sound to speakers. AP1
this started recently. I have a 2000 that has a pioneer radio in it. worked with no issues for about 7 months. then one day the sound would cut out for a few hours or days, then work again. The radio would be on and still functioning, just no sound. I took the door panels off and found Infinity Ref component set installed, with super ghetto wiring all twisted together no butt connectors, etc. the speakers were too large to fit in the cutout also, they were just screwed in all crazy.
So i rewire all that properly. power it up again, still no sound and the radio gets super hot within like 10 seconds, i unplug it and try the original honda radio, same issue.
my electrical knowledge is limited. would this be a wire touching the body somewhere? why would the speakers have no sound all of a sudden? I think I can rule out the radio because both of them do the same thing.
