Jumpy Acceleration and Light issues: 91 Crx
91 Crx Dx
b7/Z6 mini me
finally got it running (Certified Racing, Clifton NJ!)
Now i'm having a few issues, namely some jumpy acceleration
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21VH...w&feature=plcp
video of the tach^
i lose power briefly during the commotion then it goes back to normal
I also seem to have issues at around 5k and above, namely more power loss.
Also, my headlights have an issue with staying on. If i'm sitting still they are fine, but when i step on the gas the right one shuts off and sometimes while driving they both shut off, so i turn the switch off and on a few times till they come on.
Anyone have any ideas of either issue?

Obd1, mechanical timing. Brand new distributor.
Converted to obd1 and mpfi
Stock harness, with jumper harness
O2 sensor not hooked up yet.
It really only happens when I step on the throttle hard
It feels like the car just misses completely

So it all looks good, my lights have taken on a life of their own.
They'll stay on till i step on the gas.
I've got the o2 sensor today, it's going in tomorrow at work soon as i
can figure out which jumper wires go to it.
Is it possible that the lights are due to something with the alternator?

Check the distributor rotor make sure the screw is still on i had someone come to me with jumpy accel and recheck your wiring one of those is your problem
Well the light issue was the crappy ebay ballasts dying(3 years old, not bad) Have some stock headlights in now, placing an order with DDM tuning tomorrow.
Ran out of time at work today, so going to check the distributor tomorrow
Also confirmed that my Koni Blue coilovers are kaput, time to upgrade! And get two axles as 3 cv boots are ripped.
FYI, Amsoil synchromesh is epic. No more trans noise. I am leaking oil from the right side of the block though. Any thoughts? I just did a valve cover gasket.

More issues....left the girlfriends house made it about 100 feet then the car died. Tried to start it and just hear a lot of clicking from under the dash near the driver's left foot area.
I thought I ran out of gas till i noticed a LOT of clicking when I turn the key. Main relay??

Sounds like your alternator was giving out. It finally did after you left your GF house and just ran off of your battery.
Do the steps of what RonJ@HT said. Measurements of a strong alternator is at 13.8+ volts.

Id make sure you have a ground from your battery to frame. Loose connection causes those problems or even dirty.
The whole time my cars headlights flicker on and off as well as the instrument panel lights though. I also had the tach flickering. When i changed the batt cables. Forgot to place a ground to frame. Felt stupid.
Otherwise make sure the headlight wires at the connector plug aint corroded. I had to cut mine off and junkyard some other ones.
Seems like you know the problem though.

The temp I had on ran out so I haven't had it down to my work.
I`m trying to figure a way to get it over there to test a bunch of stuff out.
I wanna check.all my wires and grounds too seeing as how I haven't looked at them.in awhile. The headlights were shitty hids from ebay that gave out. The alternator is the last not replaced component. But you guys think.the battery dying caused everything to shut off last night and be why I can't start it? And the clicking?

The part you asked about earlier is called the "door check".
Is the starting issue an intermittent problem? Check these areas.
Make sure you have good connections on your battery terminals. Have you replaced the main relay? Try tapping it when your having the no start issue. It's the black box under the dash close to the hood release handle. If it magically starts after tapping, then that's your issue.
