01 CRV Transmission Slipping from stop
I just acquired an 01 CRV SE 4wd I have done a bunch or reading on transmission problems but here is mine. When cold, it shifts fine, but when warm it starts going but then revs up from a stop (slips) and finally pops into gear. I did the 3x fluid change this weekend with genuine honda DW-1 (since Z1 is no longer available), changed the shift solenoid gasket and cleaned the solenoids (were within ohm spec). Problem still persists once the car is warmed up.
Next on my list is changing the thermostat, but the bottom bolt on the housing looks near impossible to get to.
The linear solenoid, tested at 6.1 ohms which is a bit out of spec, spec says "about" 5 ohms, so that might be next. Can someone tell me which cars I can look at from the salvage yard that would have the same linear solenoid that I could pull if needed.
Any thoughts or advice would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Thermostat is being done right now...we will see if that helps. I am hoping that since the car shifts great when cold but has issues when warm this might be part of the problem. I will report back.
it won't be the thermostat. your clutches have have lost friction material. once at operating temp, the fluid thins out and increases slippage. not going to be a solenoid either. a faulty solenoid will cause missing shifts or inaccurate shift points.
while the only real cure is an overhaul, you can try draining a quart of fluid and adding the equivalent in lucas trans medic. it won't actually fix the problem, but i can almost guarantee it will stop the slipping. for how long? i can't say. tried it on my old mk3 vw golf. was slipping everywhere. trans service plus a quart of that stuff. worked like magic
