Default 1997 Accord - F22B1 - Engine Miss

Hello and thank you in advance for your help... I just purchased a 1997 Accord, 117k, 5 speed... Pretty nice for the year. I am having an issue and it is starting to confuse me just a bit. When I first got the car I did the general things... Changed oil, checked other fluids, changed plugs and wires and serviced the EGR ports (which were completely clogged)... The car still has a noticable miss or stutter from about 1500-2500 RPM but is the most noticable in 3rd gear... Last night I removed the plugs to make sure everything looked good and all are burning fine. The miss or stutter is there at all throttle positions and the car idles fine, no leaks, no smoke, dosen't burn oil, etc... Does anyone have any ideas here? If it helps, the MPG has been right around 27.5, which seems a little low to me, but I could be wrong... Also, when accelerating, it seems like there is a point that it holds back or loses power. Again, any help will be greatly appreciated.

What about the cap and rotor?

Have you checked for stored codes?

Yes, cap and rotor were replaced as well... The only stored code is P0135... I did have a P1491 prior to cleaning the EGR ports, but that did not come back after doing so. I did the "finger" test on the EGR valve and the engine bogged down, so I assume the EGR valve is still good. Would you consider the 27.5mpg to be low for this engine? Any other suggestions to check?

Also, I forgot to mention, I had the timing belt & water pump replaced as well by a reputable shop... This problem has been the same pre/post the belt being changed.
