Rebuilt Motors Oil Smells Like Gas
EDIT***
Nobody post on this thread as it is a DUPLICATE. Please post on the other one instead.
Hi. I got this rebuilt f22a1 with not even 400 miles on it and the oil seems to smell a bit like gas. I did an oil change at the 300 mile mark. I was going to do it at 500 but the smell of gas in the oil kind of freaked me out, so I did it at 300.
The injectors are original with over 333,000 miles on them, I was thinking it could be one of those sticking open. The PCV valve is relatively new; but I just discovered the hose was broken and I just replaced it with new hose.
The car runs like a champ and has good performance, I don't suspect its the rings or the compression, or the valves.
What does this sound like to you, normal break in smell or something worse?
Please let me know what you think it is.
