Every now and then after driving my car for a bit, ill turn it off and try to turn it on again and the check engine light will come on. It will stay on for about 2-5 minutes, after that itll click off and i will turn on just fine. Its more of a nuisance than anything and im sure its better to not have that happen. Any ideas?

PS it happens more often when it is hot outside.

How might i go about doing this? Kinda novice when it comes to these things. Also i forgot to mention, im pretty sure the spark plug tube o-rings are bad since there's oil in my number 2 tube and a small amount in the 1. Would that cause any of this?

ok so i pulled the codes, one long flash, 7 small ones

 

So it turns out its the speed sensor, anyone know the part number to replace just the sensor? The honda dealer around here wants over 200 bucks for the whole unit. Been lookin around on ebay and amazon seeing ones for around 20 dollars just the sensor. Not really sur what the exact number it is, or if it differs between automatic and manual( mine is 5spd manual) I found this one, looks pretty legit. anything electrical/sensory/engine management don't cheap out on. I'd go with OEM. I've had good prices/results with majestic honda auto parts
