Default B16a is in.Need a few misc. questions answered.

Ok. So things turned ok on my swap....the world didnt end and i got the engine in. If you are wondering what im talking about see my previous thread....b16a disaster story on this forum. Anyhow i have a few misc. questions to get my b16 up and running....
1. I have one left over plug on the alternator branch of the wiring loom....i have a 90 crx si. It plugged into something on my stock engine but it seems to have no place on this one....its a first gen b16a with a y1 trans if that makes a diff. It looks like it plugged into something on the manifold on my old engine if that helps.

2.the speedometer assembly...i got screwed and got sent one with an electrical speedo...my ancient **** box has a mechanical one....how do i switch over? I heard something about taking the old one out of your old trans? IF i have to do this how does that thing come out? what tools should i use to get it out? etc..

3.my vaccum lines.....i know how they run i just need to know if i need some t- fittings?

Other than that i basically got everything figured out...just a matter of putting things back together...

One more thing-My oil filter doesnt seal up correctly...it seems to leak a bit of oil on the bottom of the seal, Any ideas? I dont want a leaky engine.

Thanks again guys. ~Ryan~

As far as the speedo we took the plug and sensor off and just stuck the speedo cable on like on the old motor. The extra plug may be for the vac. fitting that is on the intake for the d16a6 but is on the firewall for the b16. Look on the old motor and see where it went. Also check this site for the diagram where the vac. lines go. Should have labled them

I have that extra plug also Hmm

As far as the oil filter..maybe the old seal from your previous filter is still on there?
also check the oil lines around there maybe they need to be re-clamped??

I did the same swap in a 91 crx si and the extra plug on mine was the alternator control which the pr3 ecu doesn't have. So I'm pretty sure you just leave it hanging.

the lft ovr plug is prolly for your oil temp scencor. my tg engine had one the b16a didn;t. if u look under the car at the back of the block next to the oilfilter. if u see 2 places where rubber plugfitting connect and thats it your b16 block doesn;t have an oil temp scencor. i think its a green conector on the block and harness. 2 wires run to it. i had the same problem. speedo. same as mine. u need to take out the electric oneand put in the old mechanical one. i think the bolts are 10mm maybe 12. t vacume lines i had problems my engine came with a map scencor and cylinder so i used the ones that came with the engine. im runing very rich. about 10mpg so i would try and use the ones on the car. any one have sujestions??? email me if u know how to fix this problem

oil pan check the bolts my accord leaked because the bolts would wiggle loose.
