crank bolt a pia? solution
welp, got halfway thru , valvetrain gasket, valve adjustment, water pump timing belt, tensioner, etc etc today
compressor had been in storage for a few years , so needless to say, it's not what it used to be,had to take it apart, wont kick on automatically , mouse nest blah blah
so 150psi and my 1/2" air gun didn't do a damn thing
so, i went to sears and bought a 350 ft lb electric impact gun, cost me $140
took it right off, now tomm
i put it back on and go back to sears and say it didn't do what i needed it to do, i'm returning it
hehehehe, gota do what ya gota do
i'm just hoping a finger touch with this thing once it starts ratcheting will be enough tq to hold it as i don't have a pulley holder
and yeah, the spark plug hole gaskets under the valvetrain were flat and dry as fack

No, a finger touch isn't going to hold it. You'll have to remove the trans dust shield and get creative finding a safe spot to wedge a flat head or pry bar against the flywheel so you can AND MUST! torque your crank bolt to spec. Some people pull the starter to gain access also.
i meant a light touch of the impact wrench as its 350 ft lbs
i'll see if i can wrap a piece of chain thru the pulley hole and around suspension bar
i'd much rather do 119ft lbs and loctite

If the motor is in the car you can get someone to maybe hit the brakes at the same time while using a flywheel tool, or a crank pulley holder. I had to use a 4 ft breaker bar and luckly my block was trashed anyway, i just needed the pulley. i sandwhich'd mine between the floor and lift. then stuck a big bar down the cyclinder. lol hey it worked.
I took mine out by removing wheel of course.i then put a jack stand high enough to level my extension with crank bolt. So put da crank pully tool or socket on the bolt. Now put in extension into socket(enough extension to to pass where the outside of the wheel is supposed to be). Next lay the extension on the jack stand. I had someone else hold the socket on the bolt while I try to open it. Take a pretty long breaker bar (mine was 3 ft breaker bar n alone will not open the bolt). Now get a long pipe that ur breaker bar will fit in. ( mine was about 5 ft long). Try not to fall on da floor after it opens from pushibg so hard lol. Good luck.....this will werk to put bak on with a torque wrench also.

I always work on cars alone, so if you don't have an impact to put that crank bolt back in or torque it properly. It will be back breaking work in order to get it hand tighten.Nothing is worst than a flywheel flying off during high speeds.
