ok i have a 97 ex ek that i recently took the d16y7 out of it and bought a d15b head and block out of a auto 95 coupe. ok this was my first swap doing by myself. i took the dizzy,altnator,intake off the y7 and put it on the d15b now everything mounts up but the dizzy can only mount using 1 bolt frm the way it came off the y7. i broke the plug rit by the oil filter (i think is the oil pressure sensor) but i was told that didnt matter. now i no the d16y7 is odb2 and the d15b is obd1 but im using my stock y7 harness because im not trying to wire vtec up rit now i just want it to start. now its getting spark fuel pump turns on but when i try to start it it sounds like it wants to turn over but dosent like its not gettin enough fuel or i dont know if the firing order is suppose to be for the d16y7 or d15b i just need to no if any1 has done what im doin and if it workd. ive bin doin this swap for a week now and was suppose to have this done in 2days. i have no idea on what is wrong with it and why its not starting all my grounds are hookd up all my connections are connected but i just dont no if i have to use the d15b dizzy or intake or im good. any advice would help cuz rit now im stuck.

Make sure distributor timing is synced, and the map and tps plugs are not switched.

 

Which cam gear did you use?

 

i dont no which cam gear is used what is that? and i put the dizzy on just like it was on the old motor so timing should be right. i dont no how to check the timing and what map and tps sensor are you talking about. when i plugged everything back in it basically was easy bcuz everything went where it was suppose to go like i said its my first swap im doing by myself. and thank yall for tryna help. i dont no if its the ecu which is a p08 i think whatever comes with the stock d16y7 or i need the d15b dizzy i dont no.

 

This is a cam gear, did you use the B7 one or the Y7 because I'm pretty sure you are supposed to use the Y7 to offset the timing

 

No the d15 cam gear is on it. The y7 cam gear is still on it.. Does that really matter?
