Swapping tires okay?
I am about to purchase a new car as my 08 Civic has 146+ miles, no A/C, and a clunk in the transmission while shifting from reverse to D. It was a long hot summer without A/C!
I also have an 05 Accord I'm keeping that is relatively low mileage and running well.
My 08 has great tires and my 05 is getting near needing new tires.
Can I swap my 08 Civic 205/15R16 treads with my 05 Accord 205/60R16 -- and the 05 to the 08 -- if I trade my Civic in?
That way I would not be giving up nice tires and keeping lousy.

Not sure what you mean by 205/15R16 for the Accord, but if you meant 205/60/R16 or 205/65/R16 then absolutely yes. They're both similar in dimension and have the same lug pattern. So there should be no problem with switching it.
Here's a reference page incase you want to confirm.

Sorry, that should have been 205/55R16 for the Civic and 205/60R16 for the Accord.
And I had given no thought to bolt specs... thanks for that heads up.
My concern centers around the 55 swapping with the 60. Those are the sidewall dimensions? Will the larger tire even fit the civic? Or affect the handling (safety!) of either the civic or accord?

Yup, the the "55" is the sidewall. No it shouldn't be a problem. It will look a bit fatter, but that's about it. Handling shouldn't be affected as long as the wheels were properly mounted. Meaning you didn't run something like 10" wide wheels on the 205's.

might have an effect on the MPH though, larger diameter tire means slower rotation, not by much, but slower.

The "55" tires will give you a slightly firmer ride. You'll notice it on surface irregularities and bumps more than anything. Your speedo/odo will be off, but not by very much, like others said, about 5%. Visually, you will have a bit more gap between the tires and fender (almost an inch difference depending on tires...OE Civic tires, Goodyear have a 24.9" OD and the OE Accord Michelin have a 25.7" OD). I'd use them myself
