Whelp folks. This will be my last B-series setup ever... then I'm off to the K24 and 4B11 world
So, my youngest brother has been dying to get his Civic up to the standards of turbo H-Ters. Now, although he some funds, he still has to pay his bills. So, since he is my brother, I have to give what I can to the Dark Amythest (sp?) Pearl.
So looking what i had in Garage from old builds, and other stuff, I found a load of **** that just might work for him. So, I'll describe and show what I have, add in a few parts and I'll let you all help me with suggestions as to how to proceed.
Remember, this is a semi-budget build with a goal of about 350whp with the most ultimate response possible for a little road race and street fun.
Now, a lot of these parts for YEARS. But they work, have worked and will continue to work, as I was brought up in what young people call the "golden era" of the Honda Import community (About 1995-2004). So most of these parts are "gently" used, as I've upgraded, and kept most of them in case of an emergency or other issue.
So I'll start with a parts list that I'm thinking. (Yes, some of it is Skunk2, but not what you think.)
Here's the car-- He'll be leaving the "stance" movement as this comes along.

(Ignore the old Intercooler, it was an old JRC)

*Engine Management- S300
I hadn't used Hondata on any of my personal projects (for various reasons), but where he's located, looks like S300 will work best for him. More than likely he'll still go to Yoshio Kinoshita..
P28 OBD1

Cylinder Head
*GS-R Cylinder head (thanks to Charlie Moua)
*Buddy Club P1 Series valve springs and retainers - On the Shelf
*AEM Fuel Pressure regulator (can't believe I still have this)
*Skunk2 Pro Intake Manifold for GS-R Head

*Skunk2 66mm Alpha Throttle body

*GSC N1 Camshafts
*OBD2 Distributor
*MSD Distributor Cap and wiring

*Outlaw engineering spacer kit for GS-R head
*NGK Spark plug wires (spare set I had around)

Turbo Parts
*Original OG HKS Blow off Valve - Powder coated the outer casing and kept the gold lettering

*Original GReddy Type 24 Intercooler - 28 X 11 X 3
(I had it anodized last year as a test unit for my real intercooler)

To show its not a fluke or that it was some rattle can

(I may just sell this and get a smaller Garrett core similar to LOWLUDE22)
Valve cover with aluminum plate.

*Stock cam gears - Powder coated - I got the idea from Californiadad

*Apex'i AVC-R Boost controller
I couldn't believe I still had this from my cousin's older car when these were most popular. I kept it in case my GReddy died or something. My brother doesn't drag race, so the BBG "benefits" from MAC solenoids are just as sour to him as it is to me..

*C&R Radiator
These radiators were AWESOME!!! They came with a SPAL fan and I'm sorry I had to take this one out. I upgraded to a Koyo, and will probably anodize this one to make it look more presentable.

Engine Block - B16... Yes, I said it
This was my wife's original OBD2 B16A2 with only 70K original miles from her 2000 SI (That we still have). Fluids changed and all. I kept it because you never know when you might need a spare engine

Turbo
I am lucky enough to be in this industry to see some cool ****. I had a few of these for a turbo C6 vette I was fortunate enough to work with. Well, he used two of them (Made over 780whp on 93 octane) and I had this one left. Its 49mm inducer 69mm exducer (bigger than a disco potato) and is worth keeping, so He'll use this.. And YES, we're staying internal gate because we have the -6 part numbered Actuator on it for higher pressure. I like this thing better than the GT3251 by far.
GTX2867R

Now here's the interesting stuff I'll probably use
*Skunk2 H-Beam rods
-These came brand new on the market last month as a competitive to Eagle. they use ARP 2000 3/8ths Rod bolts and bronze bushings for the wrist pin. (Even the older Eagle Rods are 5/16th ARP bolts).. So I'll try them out.

*Siemen Deka Mototron 660cc injectors
-(Picture coming soon)
So guys.. this looks interesting.. thoughts?

No way! As if you've got parts like that lying around
. I'm interested anyway, I'd like to see what you can do with the B16.
Why not get your other B16 build up though? "Project Flash " if my memory serves me correctly...

Mac is like me... he has enough stuff laying around to build 3 or 4 cars.... you should see my garage and my storage units lol... its like the collective honda and nissan aftermarket got stolen
Call me "Mr Efficient " but I like to sell the stuff that's worth anything that I'm not using and use it against new part's. You won't find anything at mine other than spare bolts, nuts and hoses lol.

Just looking for a good 350whp-400whp absolute tops. its just for some great fun. Like me, he doesn't drag race either so this will fit the bill very nicely.
I honestly think they'll be fine. If people run Eagle Rods and don't sweat about the whole "where its made" issue, these will fit the bill. This is no different than the Crower "Econo Rods" that were out, and they use ARP 2000 3/8th" rod bolts and bronze bushings like Eagle, so why not? I haven't picked these up yet, but probably will over the winter with the funds my brother will be providing.
Probably just some 10.0:1 Wiseco Pistons. You can always get single components in the future if there are any problems, and replacement rings are easy to order. I've always been pleased with that company.
Exactly. I've also had the pleasure of having some rare parts (People like us now are considered to be old school "fan boys"...
". But I also feel at times that these parts should be eventually used and enjoyed and not for someone that wants to just "flip" parts for a living. That's why even though I had my cousin's old original MUGEN header, and had it repaired and coated as a collector's item, I sold it to the owner of "Project SHE" because I knew he would not only appreciate it, but not "flip it", and guess what?.. It made great midrange power for his build... I've known the owner for over 15 years, so who better to sell it to?
I was probably going to sell some of these anyway as financing for my own stuff. (I'm not made of money at all..) But with my brother working hard for his Civic, driving an old Accord on a daily basis, I thought that helping him with his project as he graduates, would be a great way to show appreciation for his accomplishments. (Double major at the business school and mathematics)

I missed the part about the GSCs lol
. So this is going to be a b16 w/ gsr head correct? I wish you wouldve been using the Wolverine on this so I could see some other results possibly before I put mine to use, but im sure this turbo is much better for his goals plus you had it just laying around.

i believe you do make a good point on the rods. i have eagle rods and they work just fine in my motor pushing 382whp (i love my dyno graph) . i believe skunk2 makes good products so you shouldnt have an issues. i guess you can say there just another rod company...for now

I love the add for the skunk2 rods
"Laser-Etched Skunk2 Logo For Authenticity"
While I have heard a lot of hate on skunk2 products I've never had any problems but I'm glad to see someone especially as experienced as TheShodan giving these rods a try..
Project looks like fun!! I hope to have a stockpile like that someday
