Short Shifter?
I have a 94 Honda Accord 5 speed and I wanted to get a neuspeed short shifter like in my civic si. Problem is, its just the adapter and not the actual throw. (In my Si, the throw is much shorter) Anyone know of any? Also, I have been told I could grind the shifter down and rethread the shift ****, any truth to that? Seems a little much.
Accord94DX: What are your opinions on it? i want to hear people that have it and what do they like and dislike about it?

I have the B&M short shift kit in my 6th gen - works great, no troubles.
I will also be grinding down the shifter lever soon, here's a how-to link, it's for 'ludes (wow ludes man!) but it will work for accords too:

i have a dc sport short shifter adapter for my 95 honda accord lx and it feels like it is harder to shift, i actually think i might take it off. when i got it, it looked like i wouldnt work anyway, like a block of metal with a screw. i suggest to stay stock, short shifter adapters are ****.
Just installed my PSPEC last night. It is designed for a 5th Gen and I put it in a 4th so I have some console clearance issues but otherwise am VERY pleased with it.
Check it out in the Best Buys forum.

Short shift brakets are fine.
When it comes to cutting down
a cable shifting system it's not a good
idea. My friend ruined his prelude tranny
by doing this and it was expensive to fix.

Are you guys really that slow of shifters to have to spend the money on a short shifter adapter that makes the shifting a lot less smooth?
The PSPEC is not an adapter, it is a replacement lever and it beats the livin' **** out of the stock setup. It is very precise and has a very positive feel. No notchiness or slop, I love it, I would compare it in feel to a Hurst Super Shifter. Gear engagement is solid and positive, it is especially good on the 2-3 and 4-5 shifts which were a crap shoot at best with the stock setup.
