Default "S" code and "CEL" For Speedometer, Odometer and Tripometer (THEY DON'T WORK!)

Its a newly rebuild motor with a low mileage JDM AT. The speed sensor is good for sure because I tested it with a new one that I ordered for my old trans.
So it can't be the VSS.

I was discussing on another forum some possiblities, but I don't want to mention them because you may already know what's causing this.

I think the cruise control works, the light comes on but I have never used it b/c I am breaking in a rebuilt engine (first time).

Please help, this is one of the worse things that could happen for a newly rebuilt engine. I need to know my speed and I need to know how many miles I am going.

TY

EDIT,

Its puling a CEL 17 code (VSS) and a S light 4 code (same thing, VSS)

I discovered that one of the pins for the adapter on the wiring harness is partially missing or broken off. I tried to put some aluminum foil in there and a paperclip but it keeps giving codes.

How do i fix this broken pin?

Not sure which pin or connector you need. Sumitomo, and Tyco are both the OEMS for those parts, Honda does sell some of those pins with a length of wire but are in the ~$30 range.

Check out this site, hell even if you buy 10 different pins you are still only in it for 3 bucks

Or just cut a pigtail off a yard car.
