As long as there is still flex in the boot you should be fine. I have an 88 with the JDM B16A and it fit just fine.

90-91 integra axle. A lot of people say take the metal dust ring off the outside of the axle. Never had a problem with leaving mine on. GL

The dust ring that needs to be removed isn't on the axle. It's on the hub facing towards the axle. It needs to be removed before stabbing the axle into the hub otherwise you'll fry your wheel bearings. It's easy to pop out with a screwdriver.

Yes, both dust rings need to be removed if you're using Integra axles. For the side that's giving you trouble, are you sure it's seated in the half shaft all the way?

Make sure the axle didn't separate inside the boot. I've seen this happen when people are struggling to get them stabbed. If you still have your old axle, do a side by side comparison with the new one making sure the lengths are the same. To do it correctly you have to stand them up on end and compress them. Laying them next to each other on the ground isn't going to cut it.
