Ok so my eg dash light stop working few weeks ago i checked the fuses, and even changed the cluster and its still the same. Everything works rpm, speed, gas etc even the turning signals and every other components. Just the lightg dont light up. Any suggestions on why might be? Tips on what to change?

 

Did you check the cluster light switch on the left side of your steering wheel? Little turning ****.

If that doesn't work, trace the wire from cluster to the fuse box. See if there's continuity. Easy to check. Put a DMM between the back of the cluster and fuse.

Also check the cluster ground.

 

from what i have heard, if the eg dimmer switch fails, it can burn out the lights or something in the cluster?

 

Do the taillights work?

 

OP, if the tail lights ARE working, get a multimeter, pop out your Dashlight Brightness Controller and perform the following test on it:

 

I had same issue with my eg I replaced the dimmer switch and that fixed it for a while but after a while they started flickering it turned out to be the headlight switch on the column. Now if I wiggle it they will come on. Good luck

 

- dimmer switch
- headlight switch (steering column)
- blown fuse due to expose "DIMMER" wire behind the radio

It's ONE of the above.
